From the spectacular opening ceremony to record breaking moments from the likes of Chris Hoy, Jessica Ennis, Usain Bolt, Helen Glover and Heather Stanning, this beautifully illustrated book will include the triumphs and nail biting conclusions that have made the London 2012 Games a part of the nation’s history.

Tom Knight, co-author of The Official Commemorative Book, comments, ‘London 2012 has more than lived up to its promise in every respect. The venues are stunning, the crowds have been sensational – particularly in Hyde Park, Eton Dorney and Weymouth – and performances have reflected the effort and investment that has been put into Olympic sports in Britain. Even the weather has relented – who would have thought that an 800m world record would have been possible in a British stadium? The whole thing has been amazing.’

Making History at London 2012 – There have been a number of Olympic firsts and defining moments during London 2012. Saudi Arabia entered a female Olympic athlete for the first time, Felix Sanchez became the oldest-ever winner of an Olympic Games sprint event, and Nicola Adams picked up the first female boxing gold medal for team GB. This anthology will feature 25 iconic moments from the Olympic and Paralympic Games, including historic defeats as well as heroic wins. Together, these narratives will celebrate the moments that will become part of the Olympic legacy.
